Greetings Beloved and fire side sitters.

The beauty of cold days, not for some but for others are a time to work in the garden without breaking into a sweat. During the middle of our winter season can be a time of firewood collecting, soup making, mending jumpers and wandering along the walk ways with a best friend. The large conifers in the garden are looking splendid in all their glory during the winter months, feeling right at home. Our natives, the Eucalypts, the native shrubs and the grasses that are indigenous to this part of the country solider on through the short sunny days of June which warm our hearts and souls when it decides to pop out for a brief moment. One of our larger Eucalyptus on the Main Rd frontage recently had a minor mishap when one of its big branches let go after many years enduring changes in the ground and the air. When one looks up at a tree and can see a brown sap oozing out, you are watching the tree trying hard to repair damage or disease.

It is Fungi time. Keep an eye open for any little treasures.

Our Jonquils here at Allwood House are peeping through with their flower stems plump with golden delights, ready to put a smile on any face.

The local possums have moved into warmer quarters, taking up rooms in the roof at Allwood House.  What sensible little souls.  So when the sun pops out, come and enjoy the garden. Sit upon a bench and soak up some vitamin D or if you like you can come and volunteer in the garden with Jo on Mondays between 9:00-11:00 am and meet new friends, and have a friendly cuppa afterwards.  Open during school terms.

Remember what the loud world so often forgets: that small things mater.

Looking forward catching up soon.
Warm Regards

Helen
