Hurstbridge and District Local History Group

Providing tours and information service for history enquiries regarding Allwood House, Hurstbridge and surrounds.

Free Goods Trolley

Our Free Goods trolley is permanently located on the deck near our main entrance; undercover and accessible 24/7. We envision this becoming a space where people can access and trade books, small homewares, seeds, craft supplies, etc.

All items donated to the trolley need to be in good condition and usable by others in the community.

Allwood Sustainability and Culture Library

Allwood House has a dedicated library space and a wonderful collection of sustainability and culture books, that can be borrowed by the community.

Little Library

Little Libraries are a beautiful home for books, planted in our main entrance garden. Accessible 24/7 our Little Library is an invitation to share the joys of reading with your neighbours. Books come and go; no need to check them in or out. Simply take what interests you and when you are done, return the books to the Little Library, or pass them on to friends. If you have a book or two that you think others would enjoy, just pop it into Little Library next time you are passing. Little Libraries are a symbol of trust and hope – a tiny vestibule of literary happiness.
