Robert Ferguson and his mother Sheila Ferguson at Allwood House circa 1950s-1980s

In the early 1950s, the youngest daughter of the Grays, Sheila, moved back to Allwood with

her husband Gordon (nicknamed Blue) and two young sons, Tim and Robert Ferguson. They ran a small dairy farm for three decades. Sheila was also a nurse at Austin Hospital and the first port of call for anyone experiencing a medical emergency in town. She regularly rode her horse cross country from Hurstbridge all the way to Carrum to visit her grandmother, Catherine Hurst. Her son, Rob, was the last occupant of Allwood House and is still a much loved and regular visitor (pictued below with Pat Lovegrove at Allwood Neighbourhood House).
