Welcome to our website we hope you find our site useful and inviting
The historical Allwood Neighbourhood House in the heart of Hurstbridge township is one of our best community resources. Established in 1985, Allwood House has been operating as a Neighbourhood House with assistance from the Shire of Nillumbik and with Neighbourhood House Co-ordination Program funding from the Department of Health and Human Services.
Allwood’s superb garden setting and Victorian old-world charm is relaxed and welcoming, creating a wonderful environment for learning. It is an excellent venue for trainers, facilitators and ‘home grown experts’ to share their talents, skills and knowledge.
Rooms can be hired at very reasonable rates to enable affordable practical courses and workshops that add value to participant’s lives and to the spirit of community. Allwood House staff and committee are open to all ideas, suggestions and feedback on courses and other activities.
Like to see a small selection of the Great Tree Project's work ? Then come along to the Summer Soiree at Allwood Neighbourhood House , Hurstbridge on Sunday 8th December 3pm- 6pm. The Soiree is a smallish get together to 'showcase' some of Allwood's Workshop participants talents .
Organised in the main by Drummer Annie Fletcher , the afternoon is a chance for the families of workshop members to come along and see what exactly it is that they do .
As 'The Old Shed ' at Allwood House is home to The Great Tree Projects' workshops we have been invited to display a sample of our work. Along with African drumming , Choir , Belly Dancers and work from amateur Artists it's a lovely relaxing afternoon .
